Window Film and Glass Tinting Versus Using Your Blinds

[ad_1]

Most consumers think window films or glass tinting products are only for the warmer summer months but they are products that help us everyday, year-round.

Today I want to talk about a solar control solution commonly referred to as “tint” and just how a solar control solution is far better than just closing your blinds during the daytime to get rid of the nasty parts from the sun.

In the fall when the air cools and the leaves begin to hit the ground, the sun’s position starts to become a problem for almost everyone that lives north of the equator and window film is a great way to combat this glaring problem.

Most people just close their blinds but they lose any view they might have and shut out the world. I get why they do it, but it boggles my mind when I think about it.

I’m in homes and businesses a lot and have been the window film industry since 1994. I see people closing their blinds all the time. Waterfront, mountain and city views blocked out by people closing out the world to seek relief from the sun’s heat and glare. Why would anyone want to live or work in an environment like that? If only there was a way to reduce the glare and keep their view without closing the blinds, wouldn’t that be a fantastic idea? Well there is a solution and it’s very affordable.

These types of solar control solutions are great for reducing solar heat, glare and UV rays. Solar control films come in two forms, reflective and non-reflective. The most commonly used type for homeowners is non-reflective.

Non-reflective films are also widely used by interior designers and architects because they do not have the typical mirrored appearance of the traditional glass tinting products most of us associate with window films. Instead, non-reflective films are nearly clear and can reduce up to 65% of the heat and glare. You’d never know they were there because once cured, they’re almost invisible.

If you’ve got a Million dollar view why would you choose to lose it by shutting your blinds? Use window film instead and enjoy your view year-round.

Just to set the record straight, window film is a very general term. Some consumers refer to my industry as glass tinting or window tinting but I like to refer to it as a glazing or window solution.

Films are available in various forms. Solar, Safety, Security, Graphic, Interior Design and Seismic. In my next article, I want to dive into these different types of films and describe each one individually because each are very different and very unique.
